Help with monitors

thanks dude, but according to SoS they're a lil bit scooped, im looking for something thats as flat/neutral as i can get, for mixing purposes

I'm not sure the current exchange rate, but Event TR6 active monitors retail for about $400 American per pair; I got a display set at the store for around $270, and they sound amazing. Incredible detail and stereo field, nice airy high end, tight and reasonably strong bass response (as long as they're not plugged into my Mbox), and no major deficiencies or hypes that I can hear. All the mixes I've made so far have translated really well to other systems (except for the low end, but that's because my Mbox seems incapable of reproducing low frequencies).

Yamaha NS.10's

Colin
I notice alot of guys are still picking these up, but isn't anyone concerned with buying used speakers when the manufacturer is no longer making the woofers? Granted they're cheap but I would be concerned about replacement parts since yamaha discontinued them 4 or 5 years ago. The tweeters are notorious for blowing. Just a thought.

I'll throw my two cents in for the Yorkville YSM-1p monitors. Snagged mine here in the States for $400 for the pair. Lots of project studio guys I know are using these.... seem to be a forumite favorite for the under-$500 crowd on www.homerecording.com/bbs too. I listened to a bunch of Events, Mackie's, Tannoy and Behringer stuff. Budget dictated that I stay with the Yorkville's over the Events and Mackies. My ears dictated that I stay the hell away from the Behringer and Tannoy stuff. As always, YMMV.

Good luck,
Jeff
