Hey guys , I have PT LE 8 running on Windows 7 x64. It was running pretty fine for a while , but now I am getting weird shit where if I open a session , the "System usage" meter for CPU is going up and down like crazy and it won't let me play anything due to memory problems... I close the session , run C Cleaner on registry and trash PT databases and reboot... now it won't let me open a session due to "access violation occurred, unable to read location". When I try to even just fuckin CLOSE PT , it says "Not enough Memory" WTF ? I have 6 GB DDR3 RAM , a fast computer , what the hell is going on ? Should I just fucking reinstall PT

Also last time I tried to force restart I got the damn BSOD . Son of a bitch , as Sawyer would say

All of my problems are caused by my Netgear N wireless adapter. I always unplug that shiz before I open up pt8 and I have no wierd issues. Just disconnecting from the network does nothing, unplugging the card is the only solution to the problem. My sys is nearly the same as yours except its 8 gb of ddr2.

The wireless networking thing has been said before but nevertheless, it was my only issue.

Hmm. I am connected through wired... I turn off the network under device manager before running PT

I'm not too sure but I want to say it's something that is strictly wireless, so yours may be something seperate. I would look into what services and stuff are running at start up. I also turned off pretty much every feature to make windows pretty.

I was disabling all the "pretty" Windows visual effects , but my computer is very powerful and I have a great graphics card , so turning all that off made literally almost no impact on my CPU. I watched it under the performance meter thing , no change at all between turning it on or off. Even with PT running , my computer is never using more than 10% of its power. So I just leave it on now

i once had this...i was using PT 8.0.3. i just downgraded to 8.0 and stayed there. much more stable.

is it giving like a "system underflowed, try decreasing the buffer" type of message when you playback??

Yeah it was at first , now I can't even open a session ! Are you on Windows 7 or XP or what?

I think I have 8.0.3 now... how do I downgrade? I was having problems installing from disk and so Digidesign sent me the file through their ftp thing and that worked to install it originally on Win 7
