I'm getting a kind of fuzz on these vocals. It's not that obvious but it sound like a lower bitrate mp3 kind of sound coming through over the top. Does anyone know what is causing that and if it's possible to fix it?
Here's a clip of the vocal. It's most obvious on the last word.
I recorded it on Cubase 5 with an Alesis i:02 interface and an AKG mic, pretty basic stuff. Also had the same problem using an SM57 mic. This stuff seems to work fine with female vocals just not this kind of male rock vocals. I had the same problem before with a different computer and interface, so I guess it must be my mics.
Can anyone recommend a good mic for this kind of vocals?
