Just got paid, need to know which album is considered Agalloch's best, and The Crown, also what are they both like? i see them mentioned a lot and they both seem to be though quite highly of so it thought id check them out

For Agalloch I would probably go with Pale Folklore although The Mantle is great as well. Pale Folklore is a bit more metal with raspy vocals while The Mantle features mostly clean vox.

As for The Crown, I would pick Deathrace King. They're NWOSDM and really another band you can't go wrong with. You may want to wait for reviews of Possessed 13 which comes out at the end of this month...

I really like Crowned in Terror - some great riffs and groove- and Lindberg is a favorite vocalist of mine. Still they are a very good band- just not all that original which isnt a bad thing.

The Mantle was rather boring- so i too recommend Pale Folklore.

You can't really go wrong with an Agalloch album. They're bth quite good.

I'm not a fan of the Crown, though I only have heard Deathrace King; it did nothing for me.

The Mantle is the best Agalloch , both are must-have , I'd suggest Pale Folklore first though

I'd buy everything Agalloch have done (well I have) I've got the Stone, Wind and Pillor MCD and am looking for the first EP on Ebay and stuff, no luck so far.

Pale Folklore has more of a concept to it, where as The Mantle is just beyond words.

Start with the Mantle, then I reckon you will no doubt want to find out more stuff.

The Crown, Start with Crowned in Terror. Hell Is Here is a great album but you kind of have to dig a little deeper to appreciate it.
