Here guys, read this and kill yourselves

Already did and I was wondering, if this is all valid, why the industry complains about declining sales?!

doesn't matter at all, the beatles still sold the most records ever, 1,3 billion sold records, who
needs a number one hit ;) every 5,35th human could own a Beatles record...

And it's way easier and cheaper to sell music today, my dad was a huge beatles fan and elvis
fan but he wasn't able to buy alot of the stuff because there were no shops or other ways to
get the records, today you either go to a shop, buy it online or whatever.

Intense list, but IMO Flo Rida's “Low” is much better than The Beatles' “Hey Jude”... specially Travis Barker´s remix.

+1

and also there were half as many ppl as audience who possibly could buy are record that is more expensive and harder to get than today.

Also not a real surprise anyway there..."popular music" has it's name for a reason....there's a lot of worse stuff that sells better than most other stuff I'd consider quality music around here.

mhhh... well, i'm not sure who's the one to judge, which music is good and which is crap... can we (i mean as a "metal" community)? and why? i mean, we're the minority, it's kinda arrogant to claim to be the ones who know, what "good" and what "bad" is... i respect all music, and really think there's only a "different" (well, at least almost always.. if 99% agree that it's crap, then it might be so :) )... and maybe the success proves all the pop-guys right

that list didn't make me depressed. itunes didn't exist when the beatles came out, and if it did, they probably would have literally owned planet earth.

and #12 was retarded. people that hate on justin bieber are just jealous. I'm sure he's really offended while he's fucking his ridiculously hot girlfriend on top of his ferrari at age 17 or however old he is.

nah didn't really shock me either.

they make albums these days to have as many "hits" as possible, purely to beat on a dead horse for just a bit more. all they need is to TELL the kids which songs are the good ones, and sprinkle some sugar on the songs by using some overused four chord progression that get stuck in your head and only differ from any other hit single by its production.

literally everytime i watch MTV and hear a new song it makes me go "oh it's this song again"

I have had all kind of discussions about this topic, and I know that I come across pretty judgemental and "know it all" for saying some stuff is crap IMO.

I think music is "bad" when it's the same stuff done over and over again.
Sure you can say that about metal overall, like one thrash band doing stuff stuff like a million other thrash bands, but that's not what I mean. I don't expect anyone to reeinvent the wheel ;)

But using the same 4 chords (and that's allready quite a lot for some) for all of your songs, in the exact same order ect...and seeing ppl buying thousands of recods made by producers who recyle their own stuff a dozen times, sometimes not even with different vocal lines but only with different "lyrics"....idk, I just don't go well with that observation.

But you can have the same discussion with me about some modern art stuff.
Wanking on a piece of paper or cutting a hole in it is ok with me if I see what you wanted to express with it, but I don't give it as much value as a kickass painting. That also isn't about technical stuff or how long it takes to accomplish something btw

Sure I'm not the one to judge what is art and what not, but I'm also not claiming that I want the one to do so. It's just my opinion and I also can argue WHY I think so.

Anyway, I wasn't really talking about pop music in particular, I like to listen to some stuff that falls into the singer/songwriter category of pop/elekro pop.
I was more thinking about stuff that like schlagerpop at al
