I don't know a lot of you personally, but I certainly enjoy the fellowship that I have found here on the forum enough to share with you the good news of my recent engagement to my fair lady of the past 5 years. This will be the second marriage for both of us, and hopefully we have both learned enough from our first time around to make this one work. While we don't know the date yet, I specifically told her that it can't be the first weekend of October 2007! :heh:

As any good musician would do, I proposed to her as part of a song I wrote. Of course, it was a typical pop ballad type of tune. It's difficult to get good proposal lyrics across while double bass is pounding in the background...:)

Since proposals were a big part of Evergrey's last PPUSA performance, I wondered if anybody else would share their proposal ideas/stories.

Congratulations, you deserve the best. Best of luck to you and your fair lady.

Ironically Im more like the guy your name is after. I dont believe in marriage.

But Im happy for you, and hope this time things work out for you. Congrats!

Such a pessimist...but it does remind me that marriage will drive you crazy...why else would it be considered an institution? :zombie:

l'm not big on it myself after my own 17 year debacle, but it can be a great thing.
May many happy years come to you & yours.

Well, you understand it was a joke...right? Though, I do have my reasons for my earlier post. I wish only the best for those who delve into the world of marriage and hope for nothing short of a lifetime of happiness.

Congrats, KingGene!

Haha Paul, I was WAITING for you to show up and pull out the Princess Bride.

Anyway, congrats KingGene, that's really lovely and I hope for the best for you and your lady. And thanks for announcing it on the forum, that's pretty awesome that you liked us enough to tell us ;-).

Thanks to all for your kind words....and advice. Looking forward to a great life together. Unfortunately, you will probably not meet her as she does not frequent too many of the metal shows I go to. She's more of a Celine Dion fan, but she enjoys going to seeing my bands play. But there is no way she would be able to tolerate 3 nights of ProgPower...:)

Have you set a date yet? Congrats! My wife and I got married this past New year's Eve. THis is the 2nd marriage for both of us as well.
