First off, I'd like to say thank you to anyone who has taken the time to share their ideas, findings, and knowledge to this board. I've learned a ton and hope to keep on learning. I'm working on a second album and so far I think it's sounding pretty decent. Here's a track I put together with a Pod XTLive for guitar and bass and Superior Drummer 2.2 for drums. Haven't worked out the vocal track yet but wanted to get opinions on the sound thus far.

Thanks!!

Sounds a bit muffled.. moar presence on the guitars(The cymbals are already really bright though.)!
I would like to hear some more click on the kick, and maybe let the snare cut through a bit more(Sounds like its further away then everything else.).

The snare feels like it should be boosted somewhat ~2khz, and the guitars could use more frequencies between the 4-8khz area.

Thanks for the tip. You're right, I think it's better. Link has been updated in the first post.

Its better, but still needs some work.. cant really tell what to do on these speakers though.. :erk:

Still waiting for my headphones.

I think some bass/guitar frequencies are fighting. I think the lowend that comes from the bass is pretty heavy, too. try some multi-band compression or eq. or both :) don't overdo it. it allready sounds pretty solid! I think you definately head in the right direction!

some weird sounding mud on the toms in the beginning, also I think the guitars could be more widely panned
Just panned 2 GTRs hard left and 2 hard right. Lead is now R80.

Added hp filter on GTRs at 95Hz. Seems to have cleared it up. GTRs and Bass now seem to have their own space. Had bass shelf boosted around 114Hz, removed it.
Updated link in first post.
You guys are awesome. Thank you!!

Allot better! :)
Personally i would like the kick somewhat punchier, but thats a matter of taste so.

much much much much better! I'm drunk now, but I think this is a pretty good mix! more kickdrum indeed. maybe try parallel compression if you havn't allready done it.

Kick and snare are now more prominent. Used some M/S compression to get GTRs beefier and more spread. I must be really late to the game with M/S compression. Just learned about it in a T-Racks tutorial. So powerful as a mix tool and mastering tool. If you're not familiar with it essentially it lets you compress (or eq) the sides independently of the mid. Very cool.

Sounds pretty cool now dude!
If i remember it tomorrow, i will listen to it through my monitors ! ;P

Thanks, Notuern! I'm hoping my new X3 comes through on the vocals!! I'm also going to pick up a SM7 this weekend. If it's good enough for Michael Jackson, it's good enough for me!

Couldn't leave well enough alone. Completely changed the drums, rebalanced a few things. I think it sounds huge. Comments appreciated. The link in the first post has been updated.
Thanks guys!
