I don't like American Idol and I think the guy singing doesn't fit that song, but Zakk probably doesn't mind his guitar playing and name being exposed to millions of households that might not have heard of him otherwise and if that brings new metal fans then it's good too.

Knowing Zakk I can tell you that the only reason he did this is the exposure. Zakk makes PLENTY of cash!

If you guys really looked into all the work the guy does its pretty amazing how he has any time at all for his family. He writes for ESPN, Food Network, MSG Network, NFL Network, and a host of other TV stuff. He does commercial jingles as well. Just cause you don't hear the squealing 800db guitar doesn't mean it ain't a piece of music written by Zakk.

The guy is trying to make metal more mainstream then it is. Why get on him for that?

Now I am NOT an American Idol fan nor do I ever plan to be, but I am noticing a trend with this show. Now that Mr. Simon has left the building they are more accepting of ALL forms of music. This is by my count the 2nd song of the Hard Rock / Metal genre that's made it to the show. Maybe that's the Mr. Tyler influence, but who cares. The kid may not be the best singer in the world, but this kid single handedly along with American Idol is bringing the 80s Tate / Harnell / Halford style of singing to the masses. Which inho isnt a bad thing.
