my philosophy is, there are many people you may be friendly with, but that is different than being a friend. a friend is someone who will get out of bed at 4:00 am to bail you out of jail. if you have a handful of true friends, you are lucky.

@liz -- that first one describes my parents to a tee. To say they've had some bad luck in life is an understatement. All of their dreams have been crushed by things beyond their control. I'm basically the only thing they have that hasn't somehow been fucked up (they don't know how close I came though)

The only thing I ever attack PJ for is how he lied when he asked for money. If i'd had the money to help him with his "gas bill" i'd have just as likely given it to him to buy his wife a surprise.
