well here's my opinion.
1. most of the times i have seen ashlee perform on tv or such she HAS been singing live as far as i can tell. so i am not immediately going to dis her because of one instance.
2. the acid reflux thing is WELL DOCUMENTED on the tv show she did for mtv. there was a whole thing about how she lost her voice and they show her in a doctor's office seeing that she does have acid refulx and that it was fucking with her vocal cords.
3. i can't say anything else about it having not seen the actual footage. i thought the fact that she blamed her band at first seemed a bit much but i think she has come clean.
4. obviously i am a musician in a band who will go out and sing live every night no matter what so maybe its not as much of an issue for us but i am not sure how i could react if i was a pop star given the chance to perform on SNL and not be able to sing. would i cancel it? or would i do it live and risk injury to my vocal cords? or would i suck it up and lip sync so that i could at least perform?
the bottom line is that i am not going to say "fuck ashlee she lip synchs!" because as far as i know it was a one time situation and i have heard her sing live and she can do it live.

bull shit it was a one-time situation. most everybody in her position lip syncs from time to time or even more often. she's not anything special.

I don't particularly think less of her, its kind of the state of modern pop music today anyway. when a vocal talent like Whitney Houston lip syncs, you know its a pretty common practice.
