Actually a bit of whiskey on the gums for teething babies soothes the ache. My grandmother used to do that to my little brother and it worked fine. Just a dab on the finger and put it on the gums.

heh my parents did that too... and also, my mom would dip my pacifer in wine so I would sleep on the plane
(my parents travel a lot, which explains why I got the bug also) just a drop on the pacifer can put any baby to sleep.
If only more parents do it on planes , if only %#@#@%*&^%@@!!!
