Hey, Johnnie.....still stand by this prediction?

Anthrax is projected to sell about 20k. This would put them at about number 13-15 on the Billboard Charts.

The rock bands that have outsold them this week are Staind which will come in at about #5, Red Hot Chile Peppers, and Dream Theater.

I am surprised Dream Theater would outsell Anthrax.

I think Johnnie needs NOT explain his taste....NOTHING to do with popularity.

I said nothing about taste. Everyone's is different and I don't mind if you prefer Bush (though I think you are crazy). I am talking about his statement that any new album released by Anthrax with Joey doing vocals would not sell even ten more copies than WCFYA. He was wrong. And he wasn't even a little wrong, he was majorly wrong.

I'll weigh in and say that if they had done a Joey CD in 2005 vs after the big 4 the numbers wouldn't have been the same. Now how much off would they be is speculation and a half. How many big 4 DVD's sold and how many people saw it in the theater live? They got a lot of exposure. I don't think anybody could argue that. Timing worked out well for them; big tour, new cd, and now they'll be doing their own tour.
I agree.

People who compare the V8 publicity to the perfect timing of everything now to justify an argument are fools. It's more to do with a sign of the times than anything else.

Pretty much. I don't like "what-ifs" but my prediction would probably have suited right for 2005.

Well if Anthrax didn't try their utmost to dismantle their career in 1994 , they wouldn't have had to be 'rescued'

...and who did that? John Bush! "I broke down, like, twice during the show and then, literally, after the show, had a physical collapse in the dressing room where I almost fainted. It was a huge release of anxiety and tension and stress of the last four years of being without John Bush. I'm not making a joke out of it, either; I'm absolutely serious." (Scott Ian)

blah blah blah blah, I wasn't making a Joey vs John argument. I'm making an argument that they have way better exposure coming off this tour than they did the reunion tour. Everybody agrees that SOWN sold well in part because of the momentum of POT. The same applies now, the only change is what defines "sells well"

Momentum of POT was Bring The Noise being a cross-over hit! NOTHING wrong with that.

Yes...I don't know if there really was any POT momentum in 1993. It was three years prior to that and back then, bands were releasing records per year, it's not like today when we're talking Death Magnetic still as "the actual album". The music world drastically changed in the early nineties. So if anything, there was the "Bring The Noise" momentum - most Anthrax fans, me included, considered Attack Of The Killer B's as a regular album back then.

I just checked the price tag from CD and it cost the same as any other normal CD at that time...:)

...but yeah...I think that Anthrax got great help from these Big 4 shows...DVD & all...but that's what friends are for...Anthrax dudes helped Metallica back then...1984 or something like that.
