YEs, georgia pacific brand shingles, and tar paper underlayment if you rip the old shingles off. If your overlaying the new ones on to the old ones, tell the guy at the hardeware, that way he will get you longer NAILS. Yeah, get soem "wet and dry as well".
For the vents and things, just tuck the shingle under on the lower parts, and overlay on the upper parts, and use the wet and dry when needed. I would go ahead and get a gallon of the WandD (hey, thats WD hahahah) Get a few plastic puddy knives as well for the Wand D, that way they are cheap, and you can trach them after the use. Good luck.
Rememebr this, if you use standard shingles, you need to make a chalk line, one corner of the roof, on the lower end, mesure up 12 inches, the same on the right and left, then lay a row of shingles UPSIDE DOWN. The come back and mesure OVER 30 inches, and again with 36 inches. That gives you your verticle lines for laying. Measur up and make a chalk line every 10 inches after that. You can do 5 inches if you like, cause thats how much shingle is actually exposed. That way, you keep them very straight. do not nail any more than 4 nails pershingle. Read the diorections on the bundles as well.
Hope i helps and not confussed .
Glad that guy is in jail.
