Jersey Baby
I wrote my first post the other night and was gently reminded I forgot the beer. My local liquor store was closed that night. Sorry. I have some beer now, though, including Molson Ice, which was by request.

Since I'm not too fond of lurkers on boards I thought I should let you know who I am so I don't become what I dislike.

I'm Michele, 31, married 4 1/2 years, one daughter and two step-children. Live in north Jersey. My musical taste is broad - from Poison to Pantera. Stop laughing or shaking your head. I'm not going to try to be one of those chicks that says she loves everyone to fit in. Blech. I know what I like and hopefully that's cool with you all and I promise not to push my love of Warrant on you. I know to keep that to myself.

But Anthrax has only been one of my favs, especially with Joey but I have nothing against John Bush. I've seen them three times - the first two times was with John and they rocked but last month in Sayerville was Awesome!! I can't wait till they come around again. My favorite song is Indians. Damn that is good music.

I'm going to Giagantour next month in NY on the 23. I was trying to figure out what to get my husband for Father's Day and decided to go with that. We are going to meet Dave Mustaine. I'm super psyched about that. I also can't wait to see Fear Factory and Life of Agony. I don't really know much about the other bands though.

Oh, I'm horrible when it comes to song titles or album titles or which came first or who were the original band members in their garages in high school. I can't keep up with that stuff. I used to do that in my former life but I just don't have time for that now which is why I like this board. It keeps me up to date without overloading me with info.

Someone on the Q&A thread asked if anyone was stoked about the new ATHF movie. Count me in although I don't know how they can take a 15 minute cartoon and turn it into a movie. It will be interesting to see. But I'll be there.

I inherited the unfunny gene from my father so if I'm lame to you, that's because I'm lame in real life. If you find me funny, you may need to re-evaluate your standards on funniness.

I like to make jewelry and I send happy mail to kids with chronic or terminal illnesses. Some people may find it morbid to be involved with something like that but I personally find it rewarding knowing that even if only for a minute, I have made an otherwise sick child happy.

Ok, I think that's about it. You all seem to know each other pretty well so I thought I should play a little catch up. Anything else you want to know, just ask.

Michele

We only slammed if you walked into me. I was in the back near I guess the sound guys or the light guys, I don't really know (not in the middle where they were recording but off to the side behind the camera the whole time). It was my first time to the Starland Ballroom but when you walk in and look ahead, there was the other room that you could walk up the stairs to, I was over there. (By the way, I know you didn't really mean that we probably slammed together, I was just telling ya where I was) That place was PACKED. I would think it had to have exceeded its limit. And I thought the show was never going to start when they started playing the movie. It was a great recap but I wanted them. I have to say that of all the shows I have ever been to this was by and far, the best one. Like I said earlier, I'm horrible when it comes to song and album titles and it isn't any different when I go to shows. Plus I have a hard time hearing what musicians are saying or what songs they are playing until I practically get to the chorus. But this show I think I didn't know one or two songs and the rest I was right there with them. God it was awesome. My husband tries to "protect" me when we go to shows but I have been going to them longer than we have been together so I can totally handle myself. I told him the next time they come I'm going as close to the stage as I can because I hate, hate, hate being in the back. I told him he can watch out for himself and I'll take care of myself and we'll just meet up afterwards if we have to. Its like a different world back there. Plus I get people's heads in my way, can barely see anything, and I'm not short, I'm 5'9 but I felt like a dwarf back there.

Thanks for the pictures. Brings back great memories.

Have you been to Jersey before?

Michele

Welcome Michelle. That's probably the best first-post ever.
MyHatred showed you the typical first post. And my first was something lame like:
"Did yous guys has that one Anthrax comic book? I do!:hotjump: "

Yeah, I think that was my first post.
OH, and special thanks to 'thraxx' for putting up the huge-ass pictures. And making it so I have to scroll this way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> to read all what was posted.
Thank God I'm not on dial up.

NJ Represent. What part up North, are ya?

Im in Vegas now, but was born/raised in Paramus. I fucking hate it here, and want to move back east. Maybe not in NJ, but not too far and in PA country.

NJ was a really big Hair Metal scene amongst other real metal scenes. I will forever love and cherrish Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet album.

Im kinda ashamed that Trixter came from my town and Steve Brown - guitarist, his father was our Highschool Vice Principal.

Trixter played out our HS and did a video and Mtv was all there filming :Smug:

Thraxx, those are really cool. I haven't seen them before. I've only been around here for a short time so if you posted this before, I wouldn't have seen it.

Thrashard925, I live in Bayonne, exit 14A. From what I have heard, this is the only place that you can say "I'm at exit 14A" and people will know what you mean. I also heard on a Geico commercial of all places that wherever you live and you are going to the shore, you say "I'm going to the beach" but in Jersey everyone says they are going "down the shore." How true that is. Bayonne is about 20 minutes from NYC and although I've been to the Village many times, I've never actually hung out there in bars or anything. I lived a very sheltered life as a youngin.

I moved to Savannah, GA for 3 1/2 years and, not knocking it, but there was nothing to do. Well, there are two army bases and 4 colleges so I'm sure there is an incredible dating scene but there are only a few clubs and there was nothing for me and my husband when were there (other than his kids, the whole reason we were there in the first place). Atlanta is 4 hours and Jacksonville, Fl. is 2 hours away and we didn't have a car at the time so it made life more difficult.

I haven't heard the name Trixter in ages but (gulp) I have two of their tapes. I haven't listened to them in like ten years but I just can't bare to throw them away because its like throwing away a part of my childhood. Some of my tapes are the originals and they are mangled and others I have gone through 2 or 3 so far. Eventually I suppose everything will go to cd but in the meantime, these things are staying with me.

The reason you were so bored is b/c Savannah is the sleepy little coastal getaway spot here in Ga. Atlanta is the shit - but people there don't know how to f'n drive. Or walk. Or not bug you for spare change.
The best place to live here is the METRO Atlanta area. Meaning the surrounding counties of atlanta within a 50 mile radius. There's also Athens, a drinking town with a HUGE college problem. I spent many a drunken teenage night in Athens. Good times.

Thraxx, are your pics big enough Holmes?:erk:

BTW Anyone else notice that Tempesta looks like a healthy Steve Bushemi?
