hey whats the worst metal state

Utah was an ok metal state... till most of the venues closed down and then the only remiaing ones were 21+ ones where you have to "pay a guy 25 bucks to get in." And witht here being only 21+ venues for metal, the crowds are tiny so none of the bands want to play here anymore.

Fuck Utah.

Fuck Utah in the ass with a large anvil.

Etc.

Heh. I grew up in North Idaho; had to come here to Spokane to see concerts. There are some shows here (well, Nevermore tomorrow night!) I think Boise has "quite a bit" going on as well....

Montana is a pretty good guess...

Er, any state without a good-sized city??

As far as local bands go..Michigan doesn't have a very good showing. The "scene" is a LOT of hardcore/metalcore/emo/screamo BULLSHIT. Fortunately, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Flint draw good bands for shows on a somewhat regular basis. And amazingly, Necrophagist is playing in my town in June, and I heard Vital Remains was coming too.

saginaw just sucks period!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Philadelphia used to be a little bit better than it is now... but i'd have to agree with the whole NY/NJ... and throw PA in there... i can always find a show relatively close... if I don't go to Philly, I go to Atlantic City... if not AC, then I go to NYC.... so I have 3 fall back plans. And Delaware and Maryland aren't too far. So I could get to anything down there pretty easily.

PA has nothing but two cities, in this case we'll use philly, most of it's scene isn't really metal sadly. but they got a bunch of kick ass metal bands in there so i give em credit. it is all one small area. if we throw in MA and VA to the mix we got one killer area/scene ;)

Kansas overall may be lame, but there is a good metal scene in Wichita and Lawrence. Too many wiggers in this freakin state.
