Hey Wheezer.....

I absolutely do not concur!!!

If they're pass defense was worth talking about teams would have a harder time using the pass to open up the run on them!!!! How in the hell a Tony Dungy coached team can be so pathetic on defense is beyond me!!!
He needs a defense full of Bob Sander's and he only has one..

That is quite true. Sanders is also a bit lost without Mike Doss. Doss has never been a "numbers" guy, but his style is a perfect compliment to Sanders. He is missed in a big way by the Colts.

You just watched a mediocre offense at best in Jacksonville rack up 375 rushing yards on them!! ....or Maurice Jones "Who"

Sorry, but I totally disagree here about your assessment of MJD. His durability/ability to carry the ball 30 times per game etc. might be a question, but his stature (or lack there-of) actually gives him an abilty to get lost behind linemen and gives him a super low center of gravity.

They're sure as hell not going to stop L.T. (The best player in football right now!!!) Jamal Lewis or even Corey Dillon... I can't say I'm surprised...This is The Colts were talking about and they're post season failures are the stuff legends aren't made of!! (Sorry Peyton!!)Bye-Bye Colts!! They can watch from home with N.E.!! (Anyone watch that game?!?! Talk about patheticl!!)

I would normally agree with you. As I stated in an earlier post (and especially considering I am a Steeler fan) I believe defense wins championships as well. However, the law of averages very often. It didn't apply for The Bills, but they didn't have Vinitiery either. Am I saying The Colts will definitely win the Superbowl ? Nope. I simply think that they will heat up again and give teams a run for their money.

Having said all of that......... The Eagles seem to be the hottest team in the NFL right now. Will they be hot for the next several weeks, who knows ? despite my AFC preference and their domination over the last several years, both New Orleans and Philly could beat anyone on any given day. Drew Brees is no question the NFL MVP in my eyes.

First off I'm not going to touch any of your pro Colts rhetoric as I see no point to it...The Colts have started their implosion early this year and are quite possibly a first round elimination...But dare to dream bro...DARE TO DREAM!!!!

I couldn't agree with you more about The Eagles and if The Pats can't win It all I would like to see Jeff Garcia and The Eagles represent the NFC.. I like Drew Brees very much!!! And though I don't see him as the league MVP he's the comeback player of the year bar none!! But his career is just getting started whereas Garcia is winding things down and winning a Super Bowl will get him some long overdue respect!! Brees has a VERY bright career ahead of him.. and with the additions of Colston & Bush and an above average defense The Saints will be a force in the NFC for sometime to come..

The Saints are scary in the upcoming years. While Deuce probably doesn't have many years left in the tank, he has been slow looking this year (coming off of knee surgery.) While he has never been quick, his open field speed has always been pretty good for a big back. I think, even at his age, he will get better before he declines as he starts to trust that knee. Bush is getting into the flow of the NFL and Colston will only get better.
Brees absolutely is amazing mentally. His ability to read defenses, get rid of the ball, check down through his progressions etc. is incredible. He honestly reminds me of Joe Montana more than any QB since I have ever seen.
As far as Garcia, he has improvisational skills that are off the charts. In SF, he did good things and earned three trips to the Por Bowl, but there was something missing....... maturity. He has that now and he makes sooo few mistakes. The Eagles are tough right now with him under center.

Hey Wheez,

Sorry about The Broncos!! That's a tough way to go out!!
Despite my respect for the man I feel like Shanahan should be fired!!
I mean the benching of Jake while they were winning games was bad enough!
But after watching Cutler have his head bounced off the field like a damn basketball then putting him back in was just a bad move!!

I hope next year is better for them!!

GOD Rest Darrent Williams soul!! More needless and senseless violence!! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and teammates..:(

On a another note...The Pats are peaking at the perfect time!!! I thought The Ravens would spell our demise...But after watching the last few games I'm starting to think there's not a team in ther AFC that can beat them!!
Let the haters spew what they want!! But you might want to get ready to see The Patriots in another Super Bowl!!

A few other things....

I for one couldn't be happier that The Lions beat Dallas!! I expect The Cowboys to beat up on a horrible Seattle team this coming weekend!!! But it was just GREAT to see them humbled & embarrassed like that!!

Ditto for The Steelers beating The Cincinnati Felons!!! That team is all mouth and no character whatsoever!!! And there was no better way for the defending Super Bowl Champs to make their exit than to silence those big mouths and take their playoff hopes from them like candy from a baby!!
WAY TO GO STEELERS!!!:kickass:

I hate the fact that The Chiefs backed in!! But oh well..It's part of the game! I mean hell Seattle would NEVER have made the playoffs this year if not for the horrible division they play in....So in a way I consider them backing in as well!!

And finally how about the most hilarious post game comment I've heard thus far....

"I don't see how people can point the finger at me". "I think I had a great season. ... I can't do it all by myself. I call myself Superman, but I really don't have the cape on my back. I can't change the game in certain situations. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't."--Michael Vick, Last Night.

This guy is a piece of shit!! There's just no other way to describe him!! He's all about himself and could care less about his team!! I mean seriously!! there are little girls who could take better hits than him without constantly having to come out of a game claiming injury!! Mora Sr. was right!! He is a coach killer!! and Mora Jr. is going to find that out sometime real soon!!
(I predicted no playoffs for them early this year!!!)

The Colts are a joke!!! So don't be surprised if the Chiefs with a heavy dose of Larry Johnson run them out of the playoffs in the Wildcard game next week!! (I won't be) Cleo Lemon had The Dolphins in that game right up to the end...the Colts have nothing on defense and it's quite funny!!!

My wife being from Colorado & a big Bronco's fan was not to happy about the end of the game with the niners. But me being from the Bay Area, Well I thought It was a great game!!!!!!!

I think I will be rooting for Garcia & the Eagles in the playoffs.

The best thing about the Eagles is that this is all gravy to us. McNabb went down, the team was 5-6, and couldn't tackle. At that point, expectations were at an all time low.

All of a sudden, they learn to tackle, stuff the run on defense, run the ball on offense, and go on 90 yard 7 minute drives. Holy #$%$! I'm trying to keep myself from thinking about Hostetler in NY :heh:

Heck, the Eagles played almost all second stringers for 55 minutes of yesterday's game, and they still beat the hapless Falcons.

I'm excited, but anything that team gives us in Philly now is icing on the cake.

It's all good but thanks! If Cutler went back in it was because the trainer, Steve Antonopolous, said he was OK. If the Greek said he was OK then he was OK. He's been with the team for 30 years and has the respect of the players and the coaches.

GOD Rest Darrent Williams soul!! More needless and senseless violence!! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and teammates..:(

Just plain fucked up. That's the third pro athlete to be shot in Denver in the last three years -- Joey Porter and one of the Nuggets are the other two. I've been seriously stunned since I heard. I met him at a signing early in the season and he was such a nice kid. I've got the jersey he autographed for me sitting right here on my desk next to me because I hadn't yet figured out what to do with it. I still don't know.

It was a fucked up weekend from the start. Fucked up end. Fucked up middle. My best friend was supposed to come out from Iowa for the game but the weather took care of that.

On a another note...The Pats are peaking at the perfect time!!! I thought The Ravens would spell our demise...But after watching the last few games I'm starting to think there's not a team in ther AFC that can beat them!!

That's pretty cool! Good ol' Billy has got them firing on all cylinders at the right time. Good luck! I'll be pulling for them for you. The Chargers still look pretty tough but it would be interesting to see what Bill could come up with for their young QB.

I'm waiting to see who Peyton throws under the bus this year when they lose. Cripes! He and Harrison are eating up all their cap room so they can't get any really good talent on D. I guess he doesn't make enough money with all those commercials. Elway played for just a little more than league minimum towards the end of his career just so they had room to put other talent on the field.

It is all gravy and icing, isn't it? That makes it a lot more fun. :kickass: I can't think of any other team in the NFC to pull for so the Eagles it is!

That's one of the MANY reasons that Elway is a legend!! Whereas Manning? Meh.. He'll be more the Marino type legend...A good QB who could never win the big game!!

Here's my Wildcard Weekend Picks..

Saturday:

The Chiefs +7 1/2

The Cowboys +3

Sunday:

The Jets +8 1/2 (With the Pats winning the game!!!:kickass:)

The Eagles -7

Most self centered, retarded quote of 2006...
"I don't see how people can point the finger at me". "I think I had a great season. ... I can't do it all by myself. I call myself Superman, but I really don't have the cape on my back. I can't change the game in certain situations. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't." --Michael Vick, 12/31/06.

I didn't make any picks unfortunately, though there were no surprises. I did choose Indy and either New Orleans or Philly in the SB though.

My picks this week:

Indy @ Raisins....... Indy. As I said in an earlier post, I believe defense wins championships, but I also believe in the law of averages. The Indy offense had their slump earlier this year and I believe they will be firing on all cylinders. The defense has stepped up big time as well.

Philly @ New Orleans.... toss a coin, but since I have to pick, home team... NO. Brees, Colston, Bush, and an 85% McAllister is formidable along with a decent defense that is maturing before our eyes. NO will squeek this one out.
I am a tride and true AFC guy, but this might be one of the best games of the year. I am looking forward to this one.

Seattle @ Chicago...... Da Bears. The Bears aren't very good on offense, but Shaun Alexander isn't 100% either. I think The Bears have enough to beat Seattle unless Shaun makes a miraculous change in his play. When healthy, he is the most talented runner in the NFL (yes that includes LT) but he doesn't have the heart, nor the defense SD has surrounding him which gives him the opportunity to pound the ball and tire the opposing defense like LT does. Still..... he is the "X" factor in the game. While I expect the Bears to win.... if there is a big upset, this could be it.
New England @ Sd...... NE. SD is a very good team, but how can anyone not pick Brady and Bellichick ? NE will give SD a taste of their own 3-4 medicine and make things tough for Tomlinson. I think LT will have 100 yeards, but just right at the mark. NE will play Patriot football and methodically keep things close and wear down the stingy SD defense enough for Brady to put another last minute winning drive under his belt.

My picks this week:

Ravens over Colts - To even insuniate that their game with The Chiefs will be remotely close to this weeks game with The Ravens is insane!! Billick is a much better coach than Edwards and won't abandon his plan to run the ball if they go down 6-0. Peyton Manning played horrible and beat the Chiefs...Play even half as bad this weekend and see what happens!! The leagues best defense on their homefield is going to pound Indy both Physically and emotionally until Manning has that sad dog look on his face and is trying to think of a teammate to blame while The Colts are on their way home! (I might as well say it now...I'm picking the Ravens to beat The Patriots in the AFC Championship Game)

Eagles over Saints - Philly just seems to be peaking at the right moment!! That's really my only reason for picking them. offensively & defensively they are playing solid football and should beat a Saints team who I just don't think it's their time..

Bears over Seahawks - Sorry but a team that needed a homefield call to stop a first down and a botched FG to beat a hapless Cowboy team AT HOME!!! Isn't going to get such nice favors from the refs in Chicago...Bears Big!!!

Patriots over Chargers - Patriots, mostly based on The Chargers lack of big game experience and starting a first year QB...Belichick will have many,MANY schemes in place to get Samuel probably two Int's and to rattle Rivers for most of the day..

**I think both The Chargers and Saints are eventual Super Bowl contenders(It could even happen this year!!) as their young teams are only going to get better.:kickass:

Couldn't have said it better myself!!!!!
