Historical point of interest

How did they get the exact date for when it started? Or is that the day that England declared war?

Anyone notice the Churchill line in The Two Towers? Gandalf said "The batte for Helm's Deep is over, the battle for Middle Earth is about to begin" - ripped straight from Churchill's famous line "The battle of France is over, the battle of Britain is about to begin".

Churchill I believe was also responsible for planning the failed attacks at Gallipoli in WW1.

History buffs unite!!!!

Churchill also knew that the Japs were going to bomb Pearl Harbour, but he didn't let the Yanks know cos' he knew if the Japs ripped into them the Yanks would get pissed off and join the war, which they did. Which he needed them to do, to turn the tide of the war in his/their favour.

Not quite.

The Yanks knew that the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbour, but let it happen to get public backing for the war.

The U.S. knew that blockading Japan would incite them to attack, which was a part of their strategy.

But yep, the U.S. and the Brits were part of the same conspiracy WRT Pearl Harbour.

And yes, Churchill was prepared to donate Australia to the Japanese.
