I never knew!

I've never been too much of a fan of American DM (aside from CC and Death duh) so I never bothered to check out MA all that close, but now I've started to run out of Swedish/European DM to blast so I decided to check out some of the "classic" american bands. And holy shit, Morbid Angel fucking rips. A bit to "all over the place" for my tastes, which is no suprise since I've been listening to dead simple Swedish DM for like 7 years now. So far my favorite album is Formulas, but that's just a first impression. Focken love the guitar tone on that one! :headbang:

So, aside from MA, Suffocation and Autopsy, what other American DM bands have I missed out on in my northern elitism?

Anyone who mentions SFU will have their entrails squeezed out through their eye sockets. Thank you.

Terrorizer (David Vincent on vocals, Pete Sandoval drums)
maybe not so much DEATH metal but a classic.

proper old school!

and dude Formulas is piss poor compared to the likes of Covenant/Blessed Are The Sick, best MA album is easily Altars Of Madness!

David Vincent did not do vocals on World Downfall, Oscar Garcia from Nausea was the Terrorizer vocalist. Essential album! More grind than death

Check out Malevolent Creation, Deicide (first 2 albums), Massacre (From Beyond) Suffocation, Immolation, Incantation.... basically any band that ends in -tion:lol:

I thought the vox were split between Oscar Garcia and David Vincent?

Im not sure whos singing when but im sure vincent is on there alot?

''edit''

Here christoffer, some shit to digest. I've been on a DM frenzy myself recently.

First off, one of the earliest DM bands around. Doesn't get any more old school than this:

Hey you faghead, where you at? I've been meaning to get in touch but not only have a lost your phone nr, msn doesn't work for me either. CALL ME SHITHEAD

And Incantation sounds fucking sweet. Will be checking out Disincarnate right after. Malevolent Creation and Monstrosity are also on my to-do list.

All of these bands are ones that I of course know of, and have probably heard at some point in my life but that I never bothered to check out properly. Time to make amends.

Possessed "Seven Churches" for the win!!!!! I wore that vinyl out back in the day - literally, I had to buy a second copy many years later for stupid high price when it was hard to come buy and I still wanted stuff on vinyl.

Oh yeah, check out Vital Remains, Master, Repulsion, Deathstrike, Devourment, Deeds of Flesh, Lividity, Guttural secrete, Incinerate.
Some head-melting DM there.... will post others when I think of them

Also, if you're into Carcass, check out Exhumed, Impaled and The County Medical Examiners. Some major Carcass worship going on there

Oh yes!!!

For the record...one of the greatest song cover of all times
