People trade because they want better quality than mp3.
It is such a hassle NOT, you burn cdr's post them and in return you get something cool back.
Of course it's a lot harder than clicking on a link and save as to you HD.
We've had this argument before anyway, if you are such a die hard fan then, a little effort to get something like this shouldn't be a hassle.

An mp3 of an audience recording bootleg really doesn't sound that much better than a .wav or .shn file of the same file if it's properly ripped/converted.


90% of the Opeth bootlegs are horrible sounding anyway.

Well it may be true, an mp3 might only sound a bit worse, nothing far off from the real thing. I dont disagree with that. Mp3's can sound so similar to the real thing. However i have different reason for not accepting mp3-sourced shows.. and yes it was argued when the Opeth tree was on. Anyways...

I do trade for non-mp3 shows because of authenticity reasons. Other traders (like myself) will not accept mp3 sourced crap, why?, because i can go download it myself, so can the rest of the internet. How great is it to have a bootleg that 100000 people already have?, and apart from that, its not the *real* thing. If you like to mail trade, then you want to go through the (small) trouble of burning shows, getting packages, CDRs, slips etc etc to get good shows from others.
