I know there is a lot of hotels in London, so I'm asking...
does anyone know one in particular that is within walking distance to mean fiddler, and (hopefully) not outrageous price?
Any suggestions?

i suggest you do the following, you go to any hotel on the central line, anywhere on the central line is no more really than 30 mins away from Tottenham court road (ie. mean fiddler)

the mean fiddler is in the heart of london, so prices will be more exspensive and hotels will be full up. i can recommend going to The Holiday Inn near Park Royal Station, its at the round about (which is huge so you can get directions easily from anywhere including corner shops, and its too big to miss, then you go to park royal station and its about 30 mins to Mean Fiddler, dont know any numbers or anything, i might try and find out somehow. but i dont know how...

Thanks!
I'll be looking up this stuff on the map tomorrow. I'm really wondering if I want to be driving in the city at all from what I hear.
So by "line" you mean like the subway?
Are the subways open all hours of day/night?
Are they safe at night? and if you're alone, etc?

Thanks very much for the help!

I can give a little advice, the underground(tube) shuts at 4am approximatley, I believe, and no, I wouldn't personally walk around by myself at night.

The Mean Fiddler is easy to find, its right near Tottenham Court Road tube station. Ask one of the underground staff, they are normally very helpful.

Thanks Lee, I'll look into these today.

But see what I mean about too many! It's confusing, if these are the ones close to the place, imagine how many I'm pulling up punching in "london". hahah
I appreciate knowing. I guess every other building is a hotel there so maybe it wont be so awful as it seems to find an appropriate place to pass out. :p

I'll have a rental car and it's in need of a good driver.
If you two want to meet somewhere and drive in together (with YOU driving it) just let me know! :D

It means that I'll have to drive and, therefore, not drink :(

Being sober sucks ass. I'm trying to talk Mrs_B into staying overnight after the Birmingham show so I can have a few. I can see the conversation now:

Mrs_B: So, you're prepared to spend $80 on a hotel and miss a days work all because you want to get pissed?

Lee_B: ...yes

Mrs_B:

needless to say, I'll be driving to both shows :(

Personally if I was in Lee's position I'd make a few jibes about women drivers in the hope it would make my girlfriend want to prove how she could drive all the way there and back without crashing ;)
