How can I improve this mix?
I'm mixing through headphones, yeah I know, not that great of an idea but I have no other choice until I receive my monitors.

What I did:
Brought Overheads down
Removed some reverb from the snare

The snare has a lot of reverb as an effect throughout the intro breakdown. After that I brought the reverb down a lot on the rest of the song.

the drums are a little low in the mix... (for my taste). the snare is a little thin. i would say to parallel comp or limit the drums... then before the comp/limiter in the signal chain, use some sort of distortion (BT Valve Driver ADR2S). leave the LP at 22k and apply a single notch of distortion. you can also clip the drums into a stem (2-track) using and clipper plugin (or high end adc). this will give the drums a bigger body.

Guitars need more gain. Bring the drums up.

Still a BUCKETLOAD of reverb on that snare. Sounds like the guitars are a bit undergained. Guitars also feel like they have been edited to death. Sounds way to mechanical on the breakdowns(for my tastes anyway).

It's an Asking Alexandria cover so the guitars should be edited that way.
