How do Firewire? ¯\(°_o)/¯

okay, i have a firewire audio interface (profire2626) that i use for my stationary PC but it would be really sweet to be able to hook it up to my laptop (which only has USB ports )
PLEEEEASE tell me there IS a way to do it, it would be sooo liberating to be able to just bring the laptop everywere

i've heard about firewire to USB adapters but do they work for this

No but it has one of those older PCMCIA (type 2) slots
i guess something like this should work http://www.usbgear.com/firewire_pcmcia_cardbus/
are those "good enough" for audio interfaces? (the profire to be specific)
edit: the profire manual says that it needs a firewire 400 port - check.
i just hope this piece of junk is reliable too...

no point going to bricks-and-mortar computer stores any more it seems.
you should be able to find those cards pretty cheap online anyway.
