I want to try this with Recabinet and I want to know what you use to catch the signal before the cab? I'm using a tube amp and will record the cab aswell.

i ordered a weber mass 150 a week ago, it will arrive next week, and this unit can also eqipped with a line out

You could also go with the fx-send or slave-out of your amp if it has one.. but i assume you want to try out with the soundcoloring of your powerampstage from your amp?

i´m also interested in this, and will try out when i recieve my weber mass, but all the impulses already includes a poweramp section already, so i´m curious how that will turn out

Hmm. true about the FX send and all that. I saw most of the files in the Recabinet comes with power tubes. But there are some with just the cab.
This is not only for my own interest. I'm going to record with my band Souldrainer and let Dan Swanö mix it and he is requesting this type of signal from the Amp. I'm waiting for his reply with a hint of wich DI box I should use.

If i switch the "Input Select" on "Speaker out" is supposed to work or I'm going to blow my head? (literally)

There's always some sort of poweramp involved for creating an IR of a cab, just not necessarily one with tubes.
I've had better results with only one power section being involved.
Edward: I think you need to understand that no matter who made the impulse of a speaker cabinet, a power section has to be used. Otherwise, how the fuck are the speakers being powered? Shane used a Randall tube power amp for all of his impulses. I think there are a couple he made using his Engl e530 preamp's headphone output to make, since it does power a cab, but they are included more for giggles than anything I would imagine. The actual Recabinet impulses are all done with the Randall power amp. Any speaker cabinet impulse will have a power section in it, whether it's tube or solid state (more neutral/less colored) or not depends on who made it.

True, you need something to make the impulse from. I guess the ones with the tubes are made for those who wants the power tubes sound....

Oh I didn't see this reply when I made the previous post.
Ofcourse I understand that you need a power section to make the impulse
.. But again.. Then I might want to question this guy who needs my DI from the amp AFTER my power section and not only from my preamp in my amp? I mean.. Its much easier for me to record from my FX send than from between the amp and cab.
