How do you say "Metalhead" in your language?

Hey guys,
some time ago I started to gather a list how to say "Metalhead" in several languages. Now I´d like to have this list completed and corrected - does anyone have anything to add, correct or verify? Any help would be appreciated :)

OK, here´s the list so far:

Albania: Metalist or Metalari
Argentina: Metaleros
Austria Metler or Metla
Belgium: hard-rockeurs, Metal Heads, Hardrockers, Metallers
Brazil: Metaleiros
Canada: dirties, Bangers
Chile: Metaleros, Metalicos, rockeros

this is a direct translation but no one says it this way, our word for it is "MetalLeague" which means you are diehard metal fan

okay, so which one should I use for Chinese? Probably it would also look good to see it written in chinese characters... ummm :)

For German, I am rather used to "Metal(l)er" - the Bombenleger thing is also rather a political one, huh? :D
 
The weird thing about it is we even use the English word "Fans" ... I think metal is still not big enough here to have such a common used term for "Metalhead". But since you used the word "Metaller" as the German word for it, I'd say MetalFan like

About Bombenleger, well you wont meet many longhaired fascos in Germany, so the only political aspect of this name maybe comes from political movements of the 70's in Germany. Today, no one sees any political meaning in that word, at least not in the metal circle... But Metalfans are mostly called "Heavies" in the Scene.

Anyway, I´m really not very used to the term Heavies and I don´t know too many ppl who are using it... strange... seems to be rather complicated to make such a list which satisfies everyone!

Yeah, they call metalheads like that in the Southern part of Quebec City. For those who don't understand French, it refers to the guys being hairy (pwel = poil, which means hairs).

yes, I noticed later who you are, so once again thanks a lot! Many come to our web because of your introductions, you rule, lady.

Cant you just copy past the signs into the list? Or maybe you need to intall Asian Language pack to your windows. Anyway, the phonetic expression should be understandable.

I grow up in staate Hessen in Germany and Heavy is the standart word for a metalhead. Like ich bin ein Heavy, I think it a oldfashioned word from the generation of the 80s... Some also say Metler or Metaller.

True, Heavies might rather be a bit old-fashioned... but I´ll ask some guys from Hessia if they still say that ;)

Umm... I don´t have Windows but MacOS X... but I do have the chinese language support installed, actually I was even able to make a whole website in Chinese for a customer :Spin: Probaly I should try it with another browser... or something... we´ll see!
