How far have digital 30-60 watt amps come in the last five years?

I always prefered my Roland Cube 60, if I mic it, it did well for it's price. But I lost it about a year ago, time for a new amp.

Have the Line 6 Spiders gotten better? The Vox VDVT never liked too much. Has peavy entered that little market? Marshalls solid state MG series was always horrible.

I live in an apartment so tube is not an option.

I would say rack processor (Axe Fx, Digitech GSP1101, Line 6 Pod HD Pro, Eleven Rack, etc) with a poweramp (rocktron maybe) is a much better option.
