how many cd's

From the official site:

"Damnation", like "Deliverance" will be released as a limited edition digipak version (around 20000 copies) as well as a standard jewel case edition. For vinyl freaks we can now reveal that MFN will also print a 1000 copies of virgin vinyl/gatefold sleeved Lp's. As for a vinyl release of "Deliverance", there are no actual plans although Relapse records have shown great interest, as have some smaller labels.

Me too , and 20000 isn't so few considering that big Opeth fans rush to the store on the first hour :D

Hmmm....I had the LE digipak and opted to give it away when I found a jewel case version. DIGIPAKS SUCK ASS!!!!

blakmetalemp, continuing the fight against digipaks.

why not keep both?n if you prefer the jewel case version at least keep the digipack for its rarity and collectability...

Digipacks that have a plastic thing and not just a paper sleeve are fine by me. You can unfold them and look at the pretty seamless artwork. 20k isn't that limited.. I don't know how many copies of the BWP rerelease were made, but I still see it in stores now and then.

And no, there's nothing special about the special edition, except for the packaging. I'm kind of glad for that, I don't like bonus tracks on Opeth CDs.

Cause I dont need two copies and the music is the only thing Im concerned with (aside from wanting jewel cases for the protection), not "collectablility". Besides I just passed my copy onto someone else who is getting into Opeth. (you know who you are)
