How many gigabytes of metal do you have?

Hey, this ain't my fault! I tried closing this because it involves very little actual metal disccusion, but Deron reopened it!

:p

but do you really listen to all these stuff (200 GB wow)

I do, before I move (from the download folder) any album I have for burning (copies for my truck in case of theft :P) I listen to it thoroughly; counting I pirate most of my music before buying, I also re-tag everything....an extreme pain in the ass, but I'm a sucker for correctly displayed information on my gear.

I don't think it's bad to download, as long as you support the artists you get your stuff from ($$$$).

I use...

Band\Artist - Album - Track# - Title.mp3

... myself (don't really like to have too many sub-directories) and then tag them properly with release year and everything (no cover art yet, though I would like to do that at some point). And I create a playlist for every album, which I drop into the root of my music drive so any given album is only a few clicks away.

I can't stand disorganized lists, especially when the tracks look like this: Running_wild_black_hand_inn_0-230_black_hand_inn_.qcx3 or some bullshit like this.

It's a huge problem in the Grind and Extreme Metal Hub

I friend of mine has around 160gig of metal. And some is downloaded yes, but he owns a LOT of music.

Side note (kinda):

I know its an old argument, but I really do feel that downloading helps the metal scene a LOT. If I hadnt found downloads, I wouldnt own 75% of the music I have killed myself to hunt down and buy.

It's enabled me to find fantastic bands like never before, and the real beauty about it is that I can bypass the stores and order in ways which helps the bands and labels financially in a more positive way.

The only bands in general who complain about downloads are the ones who earn millions. Its not often that the lesser earners complain - they need the medium to help their material spread.

So I support downloading, but only if the EP's albums are deleted from print, or, if you plan to really support the bands and their labels by buying the music, the merch and going to the shows.

Peace.

Last time I checked I Had 200GB, now I really don't know... and there is only metal in my collection
