I'm guessing a solid 30% (probably most of the northern euros) wear the spandex abll-huggers rehularly.

Well, I heard that Andy Sneap himself prefers spandex over anything else. He use to have a chronic chafing problem with leather, and then one day James Murphy and Kazrog finally convinced him of spandex's superior breathing and comfort. He finally gave in and never went back. This is all rumors by the way, I take no responsibility for anything I just said.

I recently saw an unfortunate shot of someone I respect very much wearing spandex while fronting a black metal side project... have I said too much?

I like European metal for its theatrics and commitment to aesthetic. American metal bands are usually too concerned with looking tough to have such fun. Americans are afraid to be cheesy, I guess, which is why I don't buy a whole lot of the "I JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK!" schtick around here.

i just wear my little sister's pants and hoody. no literally. i do it to prove how stupid kids look when they are "going hardcore". i write gothenburg-inflenced metal with hxc-inflenced breakdowns and I have been pulling off the clothes for quite a few gigs now. My band is prounounced "MY DICK" My next gig is at a strip bar called "Pussycat Lounge" in NYC. See it all started when andy was a kid his love of KISS was outrageous. We all know KISS wore spandex and makeup so andy immediately started doing it himself.

Most people dont know andys 1st band was called Pussy Cult. See they were the pussy version of the REAL cult, and looked like a bunch of fat ian ashburys .....

In the mid 80s andys love for bruce dickinson (who he wrote love letter to on occassion ) Pushed this even furthur.....

To this day he still wears the black spandex from his KISS loving days under his jeans.

As for James ... well this is just a sad sad story. You see back in the day he had a hard time trying to find a "LOOK" to go with his sound (which was at the time a cross between Jim Croche, and Heathen) so he grabbed some spandex and tried the "HAIR METAL" thing ... Luckily for him chuck saved him from this ill fate and turned him into the HOMO and WHINEY BITCH we all know and love today ..... lol

So the story of Andy & James continues to this day .... at least james learned spandex was gay. Now we just have to convince andy.....
