I download plenty. The ones I genuinely wish to own, I buy when I can a) find them, or b) have the cash.

It's pretty rare I buy an album the day it comes out, regardless of whether I've downloaded it or not.

Far too fucking often.

But in the case of "must haves" then I do buy it asap. E.g. Summoning, Drudkh etc. Actually I bought the Drudkh before downloading it.

And can you believe it -- I still haven't got it from FMP666. :(

I don't know what to pick. Again, I'm totally in the dark on where to actually download a full album, or even what these DC+++ and hubs are. And I don't care.

The only thing I ever listen to are samples given by the band or record labels. And those are for bands that I buy blind from anyway.

I've started J's Program To Own Quality Over Quantity. In other words, I'd rather spend $60 on an album I'll be patient with an enjoy over time as opposed to 5 or 6 immediate listens that collect dust after one week.

A purification process is currently in the works.

I just dislike the idea of theft, and really, I have plenty to listen to without hanging onto crap. Sometimes I hang on to it though, for further listens to give it a chance to grow on me. Usually if I like it enough to lsiten to it, I like it enough to buy it at some point.

I know its not the same, but I'm trying to simplify.

rephrase: I just dislike the idea of taking someone's creativity without returning anything to them.

I don't download albums myself. When I'm dying to hear something I ask Dev for a yousendit and that's it. Mostly it's albums I'm not too confident about buying blind.

I never downloaded an entire album... I always download 1-2 songs and if I like it enough to buy it I buy it, if not, I keep the song, but listen to it only occasionnaly. Sometimes I hate the song so badly that I'll simply delete it. It happened with some black metal bands :tickled:

I put far too often, because I never download albums unless theyre up for free anyway
I've got more great samples of here in the last couple of months though, some choice stuff

however pete scald gives me a bunch of downloaded stuff on cdrs to check out, or it'll be old stuff we're on the lookout for

I don't buy many albums, and even then its usually diy stuff from bands, when theyre cheap or s/h
I have traded quite a few for my own stuff, sometimes I get paid or part paid in cds, I keep what I like and trade the rest for things that I really want
if I sell them the money goes to buy cds

I do buy stuff when I can though, that includes replacing stuff that I have as cdrs or as promos, especially if theres a nice cover or packaging
like the negura bunget folder or whatever

I'd rather buy more but I can't afford it, family comes first

I very rarely dled albums as it is. I'll delete them once I've made an opinion on it. The only time I will keep the thing on the hard drive is when it's a tough to find release. In that case, I'll keep it until I eventually come across it for sale.

Torture Squad- Pandemonium for example.

If I say I'm going to buy an album when it's released, I'll buy it. I just make a point to not say that often. Before I downloaded mp3s I hardly bought cds that often, now that I sample more things, I have a greater tendency to buy things, since I'm always trying out new stuff. (Being openminded and all, yeah .. shazzam). And since most of the stuff everyone hypes as great turns out to be complete trash, I have to do my own musical research.
