I've been trying to get a good tone with VSTS, but I can't seem to get it to sound any good at all...

What are the best VSTS to use and what effects chain can make them sound totally awesome. I'm going for a modern groove metal style tone.

I'll upload the best I can get here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6dndycynfsnplpe

I would upload to Soundcloud but I don't like how muddy it makes everything.

I'd bring guitars up in the mix, take cymbals down on the drums.

Looking into Revalver MKIII and Overloud TH1/2 - both great for metal.

Fiddle around with EQ. Take out everything below 80hz and maybe slight boost around 3/5khz.

check out www.guitarampmodeling.com for presets and impulses, tweak them to suit what you need.

I've used Metal Amp Room and I wasn't keen.

^^^^ Look at the list List of guitar ampsim software

Lepou stuff and onqel amp sims are Ace!
are you using some impulses?
