So ive done a little bit of googling and cant seem to find much on the subject outside of people debating whether or not buffered pedals solve any issues that come with it. I just purchased a carbon copy and was thinking about implementing it in my mixing. I have a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 interface, it has alot of io. So what would be the proper way to go about doing this, with the least amount of degradation? Do i need a reamp box or .... what does the signal flow look like?

i'm presuming the saffire 56 has the mix control, same as my saffire pro 40. I'd recommend watching this video on reamping through the pro 40. So you'd be sending the dry guitar tone out of a output monitor, going into the carbon copy and coming back in through the saffire. Hope this helps

yeah it has mix control. I just picked up the interface recently so i havent really worked out exactly all that is possible with mix control yet. Are you saying its possible to reamp without a proper reamp box by using the mix control software? Even if this were the case, i wonder if it would be proper to run vocals and other elements this way... Im sure i could figure out a way to do it ghetto, but im uncertain of what methods would help me retain the most fidelity, what the proper method would be. certainly im not the first person to have considered doing this in a standard daw setup

Output of 56 -> Pedal in -> Pedal out -> Input on 56.

Set the pedals knobs to 12 o'clock, and slowly raise the output of the 56 until you get a reasonable input level on your new track.

that way you're preserving some half-way decent gain structure, while getting a chance to shape the sound with the pedal.

I've been using my pedals a lot lately. Its a bit of a workflow killer to have to wait for fx to print but good sounds are worth it. Plugins are boring.
You don't always need a reamp, sometimes is sounds perfectly fine without.

Don't be afraid of EQing what you send out to the pedals, it can really change the way they react

thats awesome, I hadnt even considered modifying the send. Plugins are great but I feel like you could do some really cool performance based stuff this way.
