How updated is the 11R?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have been unable to find information regarding this. I am either going to buy a Line 6 Pod HD Pro, or an 11R. I feel a little bit worry about how updated is the 11R, and what I mean by this is, when was the last updated this unit, do any of you know if they are planning to release something new? because I feel like the Pod HD Pro is not only newer, but also I can see updates coming in the near future, just like Line 6 have done in the past with their older products (I currently have the Line 6 UX2) adding new amps, and packs.
Any advice will be appreciated!

i'll hazard you an opinion. with $700 another one of your options is a guitar preamp. engl makes probably the best one in that e range!

i've got an 11R with the ERXP (Bought it with PT 10 as a bundle). I think it's a great product and I'm loving the sounds I'm getting from it. But you're right. The last 11R Firmware update was March last year. I haven't had any problems with compatibility though.

But the POD HD Pro is an awesome interface/processor. I'd go with that if you don't want PT/don't want to deal with Avid. I don't think either is better when it comes to sound quality.
