Hows The Gibson 500T Pickup?

My friend has a Les Paul with the 500T in it and it sounds nothing like an EMG81 or a Diamrzio X2N. It was fairly hot, but I found it to be real muddy. I may not be the best judge of it though, I'm not a big fan of stock gibson pickups. If you are looking for the kind of sound that an EMG81 or a Dimarzio X2N (which sound very different imo) your best bet is to just get one or the other and install it in your guitar. I personally have EMG81's in my guitars and I dig the way they sound, but my friend has a guitar with the dimarzio and it sounds killer as well. I would actually recommend the dimarzio to you, that way you don't have to worry about batteries. Good luck with the pickups! :headbang:
