Ok, im in he middle of building a rack system, and this is what the signal chain is gonna be like,

Jackson RX10D with an EMG 81 in the bridge (ill get the 85 later)

Sennheiser Digital Wireless 1000 Series

Sabine RT-7100 rack tuner

Line 6 POD Pro Preamp

Rocktron Intellifex LTD

dbx 231 Graphic Equalizer

Alesis 3630 Compressor

ENGL 2X60 Watt Power Amplifier and of course,

Marshall 300 Watt Cabinets

Tell me what you guys think.

do you need that intelifex at all when you go a pod pro as a preamp?
if you still have to buiy those parts I'd wait with the intellifex. aybe your satisfied with the pod alone. nice unit as far as I know.

you should ask thilo with this.
I think he got a pod combined with the 840 engl poweramp.

should sound pretty close to what you are thinking of.

but the 81 is killer!!
got one in one of my guitars too and it rules big time!!
lots of power and output. you'll like it. :)

why do you want to put a pod pro into a rack system? I cant see a floarboard panel... Anyway Id like to repleace my zoom 505II and 30W amp for the one you have :D

I agree with Bodomic! If you can't choose your effects "of the floor" your fucked grandly for sure! IMO the POD XT pro is only good for amature home jamming sessions since the over all sound is.. less than edmirable compared to what you are putting together( I would say that the POD would be fine for let us say a solo or "clean" rythm *streets have no name*(amazing preset sound)). The low "crunches" on E or lower is sooooo undistinct I turned mine in twice cause I though the shit was broken! Though it is OK for computer recording.

AND Bodomic I know what you are really thinking... Where the Hell is the :rock:Kramer:rock: AXE???

ps. Will post pics soon of my hammerd rr-3 recovery. (EXPENSIVE STUFF)

the pod has a midi jack, doesn't it?

wouldn't be such a problem to get a pedalboard for it IMO... midi is the best to go anyway.

There is a POD XT pro pedal for like $400 (in Sweden), with all kind of neat stuff on it but $400??? A lot of beer.............

naaaah... can't believe they would like to have a 400 bucks for a pedal?!?

I'd take another one then... that's the fine thing about midi. you can mix anything with anything!!

you can get midi pedals for way less and could even use it for your other units like the intellifex and whatever bob wants to use.

IMO still best choice for a rack system.

btw talking bout bob...

I feel like that little jerk isn't even looking what he did!!

bob where are you?

Well, a big problem with the POD is that if wanted two simultaneous effects (say, chorus AND delay), it wont happen, a lot of people are unhapy about it but it is a minor setback i guess. That is what the Intellifex is for, so that i can have up to 3 or 4 simultaneous effects running at the same time. Plus the POD's rotary speaker idea is shit compared to the Ping Pong Delay on he Rockron. and Bodomic they full floor board you speak of is very useful, i know. I will get one when i get paid again, along with the LTD and maybe the other Pickup. I saw a LTD on Ebay for $125!!!! and it had no reserve and i fuckin forgot to buy it. what an ass. oh well

oh and TIP, my signature is a line from the movie "Home Alone" with Maculy Culkin. Uncle Frank says it to Kevin after a huge fiasco. Im not very familiar with MIDI but what I've heard about it is that you can do anything you want on it. On the floor board again, I can get one on Ebay for under 250 US$

What are you fuckin STUPID!!!!! What about Goblins, no one ever hears about Goblins anymore. Well you do around Halloween, but its always negative shit. ANd what about zombies...where the fuck are all the Zombies. That the trouble with Zombies, their unreliable." - George Carlin

well, a big part in helping me with my equipment is harmony Central's review section. there are mixed reviews about the POD and all that, some people despise it, others love it. @TIP - Im not familiar with MIDI, but it's computer based if i remember and i just dont know how to use maybe you could help me out sometime. and i wouldn't have a pedal for everything, just the floor board for the POD, and maybe a small 3 button pedal for the LTD. who knows, ill figure something out. its all from Ebay anyway, I've gotten about $1500 worth of equipment for less than $800.
