I agree. And really, that's the way he's always been. Either he plays an awesome game or he comes out like he's totally out of it. Never in between. But no one can deny what a great QB he is. I think his record of 200+ consecutive starts is just amazing.
About next week's games, AFC ones are going to be tough. I think the Patriots will win and well hopefully the Steelers too
It's not going to be easy tho. I'm thinking at the Bus being the key to win. The Eagles will most likely crush the Vikings - I sure hope so, Randy Moss is a POS
and the Falcons should easily beat the Rams. Thinking a little bit ahead, IMO whatever team from the AFC that makes it to Super Bowl is going to win it.
Bettis will start. He needs to start fast, but Wisenhunt needs to watch to see if the defense brings safeties up to help against the run. Now that Plex is back in action, there will be no double coverage on Ward throughout the whole game, so he will be able to get open. Abraham, the Jet;s best DL is also out and that will help the Steelers OL protect Ben on passing plays. The one positive for the Jets is that their rookie LB Vilmer now has many games under his belt. He will be a good one, and in fact already is.
Anything can happen in the NFL, but The Steelers were number one against the rush and number four against the pass defensively in the league. They are simply tough to score on. The Steelers are also very well balanced on offense now as well. Since Plex has been out, Randle El stepped up as well as Mays. The Steelers won't throw much, but they will make it count when they need to.
I'm not big to brag on kickers and punters 95% of the time, but I felt like the veteran Steeler punter Chric Gardocki should have made the Pro-bowl. When the Steelers played Cincy, Chris put them inside their own five yard line twice. If the Steeler/Jets game is dominated by defense and field position, Gardocki is a machine and can help win the battle of field position.
The Steelers are solid in every aspect of the game, less absolutely changing up their defensive schemes to adapt to a particular offense. Bill Belichick is GOD at that, but with all the injuries in their secondary, he might not have the players to execute what his vision is. I would say if The Steelers get by the Jets, they have a 50/50 chance of playinjg The Colts or the play-off nemises Patriots.
Flip a coin with Indy and NE.
Philly takes care of Minny by 10 points.
Falcons beat the Rams by 6.
Steelers beat the Jets by 10.
