Y'know, I always hurry over to a thread if it's Power Metal related and Black Lagoon has been posting.

You're like a one-man anti-power metal crusade dude. Nice one, keeps things interesting !

Im all for Evergrey playing bloodstock 04 they are one of my favourite bands however i must say that they are NOT progressive power metal. They may be on the InsideOut label which is home to many of the biggest progressive power metal bands out there (Symphony X, Star One etc) but the best genre description ive heard for evergrey comes from the bands description on the InsideOut webpage which labels them as "morose metal" a fitting description i think you'll agree.

 Glad to keep you interested!

I wouldn't like to class myself as Anti-Power Metal as there are lots of bands who are classed as that which I do like (Gamma Ray, Helloween, Hammerfall etc).
I think it just bugs me that a lot of the bands who are classed as Power Metal are just damn good Heavy Metal bands that get lumped in with hideous keyboard layered opera inspired bollocks (no offence meant Mr Volcane :erk: ) that just does nothing for me and is about as powerful as a wet fart.

On that note though, I appreciate that I am in the minority on here, but I like to fight my corner and hopefully not piss people off at the same time.

Now wheres the next Power Metal thread to post on?!

Fourthed or fifithed or whatever. They are just the sort of band to crank up the atmosphere and I don't understand why they haven't been invited over before.

As for the 'morose metal' thing then I agree that it was applicable around the time of S*D*T - when I saw them for the first time. Since then they've got noticeably happier :)

If they do come over, then Vince should make sure that the bar is extreemly well stocked. These guys could drink for Sweden :)
