I've been struggling lately with the realism of the programmed drums, trying to keep balance between naturality and power in them, and this is my best result yet.

So I just used the last Feared song available to mix for that "research"

Here's the result:

Drums are just superior Drummer with blended kick (Lasse's kick).

Let me know what could be improved ;)

Cheers!:headbang:

the velocitys sound great but as metalfanatic said, you went just a little far on the timing, you still want them tight as you would want a real drummer but just not robotic. Its honestly more of a velocity than timing thing i reckon.

Way too much swing on things - humanized it, sure, but it's a sloppy human performance if that. (at least on the double kick stuff at first)

Still leave things on the grid (besides flams, simultaneous tom hits, etc), but play with the velocities and actual writing of the parts more than anything.

I'm a big fan of Reaper's humanizing function .. you should try it ;)
