You know how in the 80's, People who listened to Glam were teased by the extreme metal crowd.
You know how now, people who listen to nu metal are teased by the extreme metal crowd.

My question is this, in 15 years, do you think there will be people like trent claiming that nu metal never died, and walk around dressed like Fred Durst or the singer from Daysend?

Yes. I also think Trent will be one, after turning his back on Slipknot so callously, he will remember why he loved them and start a numetal band. 15 years too late :)

I reckon there will be. With any scene of music you get people who like it while its popular then move onto the next thing, which is the majority of people listening to it, not that there's anything wrong with that either, thats kinda how the music industry works. But then you also get people who live and breathe it and will probably listen to it forever. That's how I've been with hard rock/sleaze/glam for the last 4 years or so and I can't see it ending any time soon because every day I just love it more and more and discover more bands that I hadn't heard before.

I know someone who is 31, he's got a MASSIVE CD collection (and all of it is glam, hard rock & AOR), and he's been listening to it and collecting it since the '80s when it was popular. And he is still discovering old bands he hadn't heard yet all the time and still finding albums that he hasn't been able to get before. So luckily I'm new to it and have a long life of collecting ahead of me, I don't think I can ever run out of bands!

So yeah, I think in 10 years time there will be kids out there who pick up Korn's first album and probably love it and then get into the countless nu-metal bands and all their friends will wonder why they listen to music so old that died 10 years ago!

However, I must state that I have never claimed that glam never died. Glam died a horrible and painful death! I'm claiming that the time is right now for it to return!!

He was dressing as John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever in 1992.

Josh is absolutely right. What he's suggested absolutely will happen. The only difference I can see is that even though the glamsters and the metallers gave each other shit, there was more of a degree of tolerance between them than what there is between the metallers and the nu-metal dicks now. Xena went to Metal for the Brain wearing her vest with a Poison backpatch on it, and guys wearing death metal shirts were saying how metal she was. But in ten years, if a guy turns up to a metalfest wearing a Korn shirt, everyone will STILL think he's a wanker. :)
