i am going to attempt to start a new UM tradition here

i am very glad to have another angel geek posting on this thread. :)

i think the new guy is hamilton who is played by adam baldwin from firefly.

and speaking of which, can you other whedon people name the three "hat trick" actors who have had roles on all three joss whedon shows?

"Time Bomb" kept up the momentum of good episodes.

*Below this point are spoilers.*

:OMG:

Parts I really enjoyed were Lorne going incognito following Illyria. Wes acting all crazy, reminding me of Fred in her first couple of episodes. Gunn's rescue. Hamilton's rundown of things Illyria destroyed while rescuing Gunn. Everyone getting killed by Illyria (Angel hasn't died since season 2 of Buffy right?) The surprise "evil Angel" ending.

i loved each of those things. but i am wondering if the whole "evil angel" thing is really that. i am not so sure. but i thought the episode was amazing on many levels and very well put together. also i thought they brought back alot of personal themes that people can relate to. especially the fact that ilyria was destroying herself by trying to hold on to what she once was.

uber-philosophy mutant enemy style!

also adam baldwin as hamilton is amazing. his swarmy-ness is just so icky that i love it.

I'm sure Angel has a plan or something, and that's why he's trying to act the part of head of Wolfram and Hart.
The first time I saw Hamilton I thought Agent (Matrix) and now I can't stop picturing Agent Smith whenever I see Hamilton.
Next week's episode will be good for several reasons.
1. Andrew
2. New locations
3. Flashbacks with Darla and Drusila
4. Andrew
5. Lots of Buffy references
6. Andrew
7. Spike and Angel riding a scooter together (like the time with Wesley and the pink helmet)

that makes me very happy!

and yeah hamilton is totally following in the agent smith role, not as drastic as smith but definitely in that same vein. i honestly am surprised at adam baldwin's performance given his character in firefly but i mean every firefly character who has become a buffy or angel villain has done a 180 from their firefly characters and i think that is awesome.

well if not then its perfectly understandable because it is such a departure from the normal whedon program but i endorse it heavily and i hope you enjoy it more this time around.

also no one has answered my trivia question yet.

well they just did two of the three shows but it is a good guess!

i need to look up the specific actors name's but the first is Andy Umberger who played D'Hoffryn on Buffy, was a villain in season one of Angel(the doctor who could make his body parts come loose and attack people), and he played an alliance general in the pilot episode of firefly.

the second actor's name is carlos something but he played the demon in the the first epsiuode of buffy season three in LA who was luring kids into a hell dimension to work as slaves, he was doyle's ex-wife's demon fiance in that one episode in season one of angel, and again was a character in the pilot episode of firefly.

and the third was jonathan woodward who played Knox this season on Angel, was the vampire who had a philosophical discussion with buffy in conversations with dead people, and was on an un-aired episode of firefly(which is on the dvd).

if xfer actually read this thread he might post that nerd trophy pic.

i haven't seen it yet! d'oh!

although i had heard something about that happening in the episode.

and while it seems silly to complain now with three more episodes for me to see of angel, i really am annoyed by the fact that i can't watch angel until thursday nights because stupid RI TV decided to combine WB and UPN into the same network and fuck with the program schedule.

its ok.

actually i agree with ominous that it was almost filler-ish BUT i think it had important plot points in terms of angel and spike's relationship and the whole ilyria/wes relationship.

also i approve of having one more super funny episode before the two part finale begins next week.

but i thought as far as comedy filler episodes go, this one was exceptional.

i loved how you never actually SEE the Immortal. that ruled!

also spike and dru in italy in the 50's was HILARIOUS

i would just like to add that because my roomate was insistent on watching the Friends finale which went over its alotted time slot, i missed the first scene of angel and by the time i started taping it was already on the commercials after the theme music.

i HATE Friends more than ever now.
