how many times do i need to explain that i'm not FROM iowa... i live here, yes.

BUT I'M FROM MINNESOTA.

geez
my boss at guitar center troy was from minnesota too. and he had a big cushy chair in the shape of a women's shoe and pictures of prince on the wall.

not saying all people from minnesota are like that but what i am saying is that i am updet that jake is not mentioning prince in this discussion.

i agree on eric clapton. we all know he can physically play the guitar, but as far as his music goes, he bores me to tears in heaven. i read an interview with Chris Whitley where he said almost the same thing.

the Beatles were most definitly pop, maybe pop-rock but not really rock and roll. The Stones, Led Zep certainly have a say in this. I have lost a lot of respect for Pink Floyd since discovering the legacy of Robert Wyatt (first 4 Soft Machine and his first two Solo albums) in which he did pretty much everything PF managed to do in 20 years, in 5.

josh must recant his beatles hating or the wedding is OFF

it is not heresy! I will not recant!

I'd like to point out that I said FOR FOUR YEARS in my original post. Although if they hadn't imploded directly after releasing the illusion albums, who konws what might have happened. Thety got too big too fast.
