Best pair of shoes I owned were some Nike running shoes that were unbelievably hideous and yet unbelievably comfortable.

The yellow and black pair.

They are made almost entirely of elasticy material and have no laces. There were sort of expensive but so very much worth it. The only pair of shoes I have ever owned that I tried to wear them to the point of rediculousness. The soles finally just came off after about two years of continuous wear and I had to toss them. The bastards at NIKE then discontinued the model, thwarting my attempt at a new pair. Would give anything for more. Tear...
