it's not surprising that the PromoWest folks remember mannerly young crooner John Mayer fondly, both for his sobriety and his penmanship.
At a Mayer show, PromoWest security guards found a teenager who had bought a ticket, loaded up on booze before the show and passed out before the music started. While security babysat the sleeping kid, waiting for his parents to come pick him up, Mayer passed by and asked what had happened. After an explanation, Mayer whipped out a Sharpie.
"Sorry you missed the show," he scribbled on the kid's forehead. "Sincerely, John Mayer."
