i love presidential debates but with all the strictures on these i anticipate they're going to be boringer than the boringest boring-beetle of all time.
If Kerry blows his chances to hang Bush with his own rope, I'll also start feeling really depressed, and listening to Bush makes my brain hurt, so it would be better for my health if I didn't watch the debates...
I just know they're prepping bush with some snappy, folksy, wiseass retorts designed to make him look spontaneous and sharp and it just makes my head hurt.
the thing they don't need to prep bush with smartassy bullshit - he's really good at that, and I don't mean that as a snarky backhanded compliment - it's totally a strength.
i'm terrified its just going to be a repeat of 2000. personality clobbering substance
i've been hit with waves of fear and disbelief over the past few years... and just now, this morning, on the train when i was telling jokes to my roommate.... it hit me that george bush is actually going to be reelected. and it made me want to throw up.
i'm trying to look at the bright side. okay, look, another major terrorist attack is pretty much inevitable no matter who wins, right? at least if Bush is in power we can blame him and tut-tut instead of having to half-heartedly defend Kerry.
I won't rush to defend whoever's in charge if and when the next major terrorist action happens, if Bush has done anything positive he has turned many from being merely skeptical of government to amateur conspiracy theorists.
