I managed to score a 2nd hand 5150II for NZ$700 (US$500). It needed new valves and a bit of a service so I had brand new 6L6's from my ValveKing thrown in there and a service done for $100. That's a fully functioning 5150II for NZ$800 (US$570)! :Smokedev:

Now I just need a cab

Our other guitarist got his 5150 II for 350$!!! It's crazy what you can find if you know people.

heh...i don't "know" anybody, but i found a guy on CL who was going into the navy in a week and was unloading his gear before he left. i offered 1/2 of the $700 he was asking, and he was cool with it, so after selling my krank for $300, the upgrade to the 6505+ only cost me $50!

I've had good luck with my 5150's... my first 5150 II I bought was one of the last models produced and sat in a music store for 2 years, then the dude bought it, and sold it to me after in 2008 for 650... then I traded that 5150 II for my friends 5150 original with 180 bucks cash on his part (so I got a 5150 for 470) then the same night I did that trade my friend took my 5150 II (now his) and 100 more dollars and gave the money and 5150 II to some kid for a new 6505+... the kid later emailed my friend letting him know the 5150 II broke (roughly a month after)... the kid had anger issues though and probably through the amp at a wall or something... he's had a history sadly
