i especially love how free we are. we find innumerable ways to further divide ourselves as countrymen and citizens and no one tries to stop us. i hope the patriot act doesnt do anything to mess that up.

Apparently, the best part about being Americans, is we can all be ourselves. Inside. On a computer. Never being around other diverse people. Just being alone, very alone. But being ourselves!
Heaven forbid we should have some dignified social unity, where the smarmy opinions of short lesbians and hippy school teachers are not encouraged.
Anyway.
Just to let you know, Dawson: I am a great fan of Frank Herbert. At the same time, I am also a TREMENDOUS enemy of Brian Herbert!!

hahah. not too many people like what brian and kevin did with the novels, but i frankly dont give a fuck. i love the Dune universe in general. Frank Herbert created something not unlike Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. the truth is that no one will write just like Frank Herbert....and the dude is dead. i think Brian and Kevin are doing a good enough job, being that they are doing all of this with notes and blurbs. its not easy being able to translate an artist's vision. just look at the LOTR movies. people still gave peter jackson shit for not following the books correctly. i am the most hardcore dune geek i know and i dont have a problem with the pre/sequels. if i wanted to read a frank herbert novel, id read the the lazarus incident again or something.
im just glad to know i can find out what happens with Sheanna and the worms. hopefully, theres a lot of sex in the next couple novels like in heretics and chapterhouse! YOWZA!
