Just felt the need to share that.

Just listening to the 'Slip Of The Tongue' album now... man, there's so many great riffs and licks from Vai. Also a big fan of John Sykes stuff on '1987'.

Yeah they had a lot of uber cheese ballads that don't do that much for me, but their best stuff is awesome.

Also, their new album (Good to be Bad) which is a year or so old now is absolutely brilliant. The production and guitar tone is huge and the songs rock like a muthafucker. Probably my favourite album of theirs actually.

Anyone else love Whitesnake (especially their late 80's stuff)?

(sorry, I meant to post this in the O/T forum)

I'm a huge fan of Whitesnake. John Sykes is listed as one of the guitarists that influenced my playing the most. And yes, the newest album is just brilliant. Aldrich is an amazing guitarist.

Whitesnake is one of those truly "un-guilty" pleasures for me. I listen to them at least once a week. From the early Snakebite all the way to the newest disc is all great stuff and something I would always consider in good taste.

+1 to being a big fan of "Slip of the Tongue" and "1987". Monster guitar tone from Sykes.

Also like the Blue Murder stuff that John Sykes did. The Valley of the Kings video rocks! :kickass:

Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, and AC/DC - the triumvirate of kick ass hard rock.

I love the Sykes-era stuff, and the new album with Doug Aldrich. The earlier stuff with Bernie Marsden and Mick Moody is pretty cool as well, but bluesier. I didn't really care for Slip of the Tongue, though. The first Blue Murder album smokes it 100%.

I love, "here i go again", "still of the night" "this is love" your are in the 80`s when you are listening to those songs.
