I`m making a cd cover/artwork for my school project.

Hi, my name is Helge, and I`m a student of arts and design, 3rd year.
I`m 18 years, and I want to make a cd cover/artwork for a project. It is due January the 27th.
I like the artwork of Soilwork, the newest In Flames, Opeth, Dark Tranquility. And I`m a huge fan of Travis, Carlos Del Olmo Holberg and Nicklas Sundin.

I want advice on texture building, as it plays a major part in these artists creations. I already know the technique of using coffee/aquarel colours and scanning, any more advice?

take lots of photographs of natural textures found in nature and scan the negs. You can also scratch up negatives, bleach them, do all sorts of things to them. Or though natural stuff on your scanner and just can in that and play around with it.
