I made new snare samples - 13x7 Custom Maple Snare

Hey guys - I made some samples of my custom 13x7 snare today. I used 5 microphones into my Profire 2626.

The .rar file contains soft hits, medium hits, hard hits, "cracks" and buzz rolls. They are basically unprocessed, so take that into account - and each hit contains my mix of the 5 mics.

Now, if you would like to mix your own versions out of the 5 available mics, download these consolidated .wavs and import them into your DAW.

Looks cool dude. Do you own a kit of that Samson mics ? I've recently tracked my bands demo drums using a kit with mics similar to this ones you have there. I really like Samson mics.

I had an extra mic to work with, and plenty of inputs, so I decided to throw another mic up. I angled it that way because it gave a more "woody" sound. Basically I was just experimenting

I hate those Samson Mics!!! We had a set of them in the beginning and all tom mics and the snare mics broke. There is something rattling inside the microphone and you can´t open them because they are molded. We never even used them live! The Kickdrum and OHs don´t sound very good...

Yeah I have the basic 4-piece set of them (Q-Snare, 2 x Q-Tom, and the Q-Kick). I bought them a couple years ago for live sound use, and I'd say they're decent for the money. I'm about to buy a 57 for the snare (and guitar cabinets) as soon as I have some cash though; the Profire and MR8s have cleaned me out

Hmm.. I've had mine for about 3 years and they have held up reasonably well. All of the clips broke, but I bought a new pack for under $20 on Ebay, so it wasn't a huge deal. I don't have the OHs, so I can't vouch for those. But yeah, I'm aware they aren't the best mics, but they do the job for now.

most of my drum stuff is tracked with the Q kit. I love the kick mic. My next recording session I will be using them in april!

MMHMM!!
I had problems too , i had a samson c03 and the XLR pins on it were loose so the phantom power would flicker on and off and annihilate my ears/speakers
