I MISS SPEED METAL

You can try Overlorde if you want speed metal. "Return Of The Snow Giant" came out last year.

Also get ready for Exciter new album, we are sure at UMOS the band will deliver like in the old days.

Help im a 80s metal lover is there any newer bands that are raw and fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That depends on how fast and raw you want it. These days speed and thrash gets mixed with death metal influences.

I have to look into it a bit more but here are some bands I can recommend:

Blistered Earth
Horfixion - Self Inflicted Hell [2005] great classic
The Crown
The Haunted
---

The latest albums from Annihilator are still excellent. If you have not heard them I can recommend:

Annihilator - Criteria For A Black Widow [2000]
Annihilator - Carnaval Diablos [2001]
Annihilator - Waking The Fury [2002]
Annihilator - Double Live Annihilation [2003]

All of these are great 80s thrash.

German thrashers Destruction are back in action

Destruction - All Hell Breaks Loose [2000]
Destruction - Metal Discharge [2003]

Both albums kick ass although I like All Hell Breaks... better than the last one.

Another good German thrash band is Dew Scented!

Check their albums.

Canadian vets released a re-recording of their classics.

Exciter - New Testament [2004]

Damn good album!

US stalwarts Imagica are about to release their long awaited new album:

Imagika - Devils On Both Sides [2005]

From what I heard it kicks total ass!

Canadian thrashers Infernal Majesty are still active. Check them out if you don't know them yet.

German thrashers Kreator are on a winning streak the last few years:

Kreator - Violent Revolution [2001]
Kreator - Live Kreation [2003]
Kreator - Enemy of God [2005]

The last one is awesome!!

Florida band Nasty Savage is also back in action:

Nasty Savage - Psycho Psycho [2004]

I am not that wild on this album but you might like it. :)

If you have not heard Canadian uberthrashers Razor be sure to check them out. Every album is killer!

And then there's a new band Usurper. they have a distinctly 80s thrash style:

Usurper - 2005 - Cryptobeast [2005]

I'll also recommend Children of Bodom! But then, I always recommend them any time I get the chance

Sorry I could not be more helpfull about soem recent bands. I'll ask around!

Well, if by "speed metal" you mean the speed bands of late 80s/early 90s era, then Stormwarrior is the ticket! The guys simply released Walls Of Jericho pts 2 and 3. :tickled:
Of older bands, check first two releases by Risk - killer stuff!

Dude who left Blind Guardian, his new band sounds like total German Speed/Power.

His new band sounds just like Blind Guardian used to sound when they were faster and heavier (read: Persuader ;) )

As for Riot, the only two "speed" albums are Thundersteel and The Privilege Of Power, the latter being full of weird intros to the songs and some crazy parts here and there, but not any less worthy.

Thanks for inputs ill check some of those out. I like death metal but im really in the mood for stuff like for example old megadeth and slayer and sepultura which i guess was death metal back then WEIRD.

STORMWARRIOR!!! Fuckin' old school styled German SPEEEEED metal!!! Seriously, if you like early Helloween, early Blind Guardian and Running Wild's faster stuff, you'll dig Stormwarrior. Persuader is also recommended if you like mid-period Blind Guardian(ie: Tales FromThe Twilight World, Somewhere Far Beyond, Imaginations From the Other Side)

Maybe because they're so much into early Helloween and Hansen himself produced them? ;) If he doesn't know how to get WOJ sound, nobody does.

ahh, speed metal. Now we're talking. Here are some NEW bands with class and style.

Agent Metal – heavy/speed metal from France (Maiden meets Manowar) http://agentsofmetal.free.fr
Almafuerte – heavy/speed/thrash metal from Argentina http://www.almafuerte-metal.com.ar/
Chainsaw – thrash/heavy/speed metal from Holland (review of last album here http://www.chainsaw.nl
Distant Thunder – power/speed metal from US with Helstar legend Rivera. Try this! Also try Seven Witches and Destiny’s End if you like Helstar (both with Rivera) http://www.distantthunder1.com
Kalapács – heavy/speed metal from Hungary (I have a flaw for east-European heavy metal..) http://www.kalapacs.net
Metalucifer – heavy/speed metal from Japan great band! http://www.truemetal.org/metalucifer/
Pandemonium – heavy/speed/p[ower metal from Greece (not US cult ones!) http://www.pandemonium.gr
Paragon – power/speed metal from Germany (great live band too, try “Law of the Blade”) http://www.paragon-legions.com

Of course there are many other bands. My favorites are still the old ones (Abattoir, Agent Steel, Aragorn, Future Tense, Killers, Motorhead, Muro, Omen, Raven, Venom, Voivod) as usual. Many of which made some great new albums (Annihilator, Gamma Ray, Grave Digger, Hellion, Ossion, Pokolgép, Running Wild…)

Enjoy!
