I need help on buying a used Mesa Boogie cabinet

A guy was selling his on craigslist for $500, but he would settle for $300.
But he told me that it is spray painted a silver color, it doesn't look too bad.
But would the paint effect the tone of the amp?
Advice on this please?

Highly doubtful unless he got paint on the speakers themselves. Be sure and play it and check it out first though.

no, it won't change the tone of the cabinet....seems like a stupid thing to do but the tone should be fine unless he sprayed the speakers like DE said
